And in case you hadn't guessed yet, 7 ups and 3 downs doesn't mean we're rating this game a 7/10. Far from it, in fact.

Rockstar hasn't just made a fantastic game and indeed one of their very best efforts to date, but also delivered a landmark title that stands among the very best of the generation and probably of all time.

While its slow pace and sometimes frustrating mechanics won't be for everyone, the overall package is so ingenious in its construction that it's hard to care too much about them.

No, it's not a flawless game and its issues are certainly worth discussing, but RDR2 is ultimately further proof of Rockstar's singular talents, and how nobody else in the industry is making games on quite this level of polish and intelligence.
