Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer: 9 Gameplay Details You Totally Missed

3. "Hunting Senses"

One feature which was only glimpsed at in the latest trailer was the sort of "detective mode" that Morgan can utilise while hunting animals. Though it only showed up for a second, it seems as though it will allow players to tap into their hunting instincts, being able to track injured animals or highlight potential prey to spring traps on.

Unfortunately, while this isn't an inherently bad mechanic, it doesn't look all that different from the one which has featured in so many other open world games over the past few years. Unless Rockstar have something up their sleeve to distinguish it from the same system found in the likes of Tomb Raider, The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed: Origins, then most players will already know exactly how they're going to utilise it come launch.

Again, that's not a major negative, but considering how innovative everything else in the trailer was, this feature seemed a little too familiar for a game of this calibre.
