There was no way Hosea was going to have a happy ending.

Despite being the moral compass of the entire gang and the "wise old sage" archetype, this particular outlaw knew he didn't belong in a world where the Wild West was only a fairytale.

Even then, he deserved more than being gunned down in the street during a failed robbery. Thankfully, Charles points out that he buried both Hosea and Lenny in Bluewater Marsh, so at least Hosea wasn't left in Saint Denis.
