Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Things Rockstar MUST Do

8. Mexico

If you’ve played Red Dead Redemption, you will never forget the first time you rode into Mexico as John Marston, with Jose Gonzalez’s Far Away playing in the background. This is one of the most spine-tingling moments in gaming history and sets the mood for an incredibly lonely period of Marston’s story.

Nuevo Paraíso is a barren desert landscape, littered with memorable characters such as Landon Ricketts and Abraham Reyes.

Unfortunately, Red Dead Redemption 2’s expansion to the northeast saw the loss of Mexico as a playable area. Everything north of the border from RDR is explorable in RDR2’s map and what makes this even worse for fans is the fact Nuevo Paraíso is visible just across the river. To add even more insult to injury, it seems to be fully modelled and textured, minus the towns and settlements. Some players on PC have even found ambient noise files for various locations there.

Since it looks unlikely Mexico will return to RDR2 as DLC or as a part of Red Dead Online, we can only hope it makes an appearance in Red Dead Redemption 3. Nuevo Paraíso remains a fan favourite location to this day and to be able to explore it once again would be incredible.
