Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Things Rockstar MUST Do
7. Landon Ricketts
If Rockstar is to include Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 3, it only makes sense to return to the legendary gunslinger Landon Ricketts as well.
As previously mentioned, Ricketts was a character John met when he travelled to Mexico. A famous gunslinger from a time forgotten, he spent his final years in Chuparosa as a relic from the Old West. He told Marston stories of times gone by and helped him along on his mission to track down Javier Escuella.
Landon Ricketts was only briefly mentioned in RDR2. He could be found as a collectable cigarette card and a few of the characters would mention him in passing.
If RDR3 is to follow in the footsteps of the previous games, by making the next story another prequel, it would provide a perfect opportunity to witness Ricketts in his heyday. What happened at the Blackwater Massacre? Did he really kill the Butcher Brothers?
Including Landon as a character in RDR3 would provide an interesting new perspective to play with. Depending on the size of his role, he could provide side missions or even full main story events. Even better still, he could be a playable character, allowing the player to take an element of control over his legendary narrative.
Either way, to be a part of Landon Ricketts’ story would be a brilliant inclusion for fans and new players alike.
