Red Dead Redemption: Every Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
14. The Laramie Gang
Seven years had passed since the Van Der Linde Gang split and the Marston family (hiding as the Miltons) were doing their best to keep their heads down. After John accepts a job working as a ranch hand for David Gettes at Pronghorn Ranch, things start to look up for the undercover, fugitive family.
That is, if the ranch wasn't suffering under the wrath of the Laramie Gang every five minutes. Summed up as muscle-for-hire, the Laramie Gang make a living out of strong-arming decent landowners into selling their property to richer bidders. For years they made a living around the frontier inflicting intimidation on the vulnerable, until they met John "Jim Milton" Marston.
The story arc involving the Laramie Gang is brief but extremely reminiscent of Old Western films in which farms and towns are at the mercy of a menacing gang until a hero rolls into town. They Laramie Gang might not be as evolved or drawn out as the Del Lobo Gang or O'Driscoll Brothers, but they certainly slip into their spot as contemptible and fitting villains.
If nothing else, it's their presence that reignites the fire in John Marston, and their disposal concludes the first arc of RDR2's Epilogue.
