Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation
6. Charles Smith - Forrest Goodluck
The Character: Charles Smith is one of the few supporting characters in RDR2 that sticks with the player throughout the narrative, right to the very end. As dependable of an ally that he was, it was interesting to watch through the six chapters Charles' own transition as he slowly distanced himself from Dutch's ideals, and forged his own path with the Wapiti tribe.
When the player takes over as John Marston, Charles' return to build the house in Beecher's Hope was made all the more seminal when he joins John and Sadie to take down Micah once and for all. While he doesn't appear in the first Red Dead, I'd like to think his story isn't over, and he had his own foray of adventures up North.
The Actor: Bursting onto the scene in 2015 as Hugo Glass' son Hawk in The Revenant, Forrest Goodluck has been making a name for himself since with films like The Miseducation of Cameron Post and Tom Holland crime drama Cherry.
Whilst Goodluck is a lot younger than Charles Smith's character is supposed to be, the factors that made Charles a great character were his loyalty, determination and wisdom, attributes that Goodluck would no doubt convey tremendously onto the small screen.
