Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation

1. Dutch Van Der Linde - Jason Isaacs

Red Dead Redemption 2 Jon Bernthal
Netflix

The Character: While Arthur and John were complex and compelling heroes to play in the games, there wasn't a character in RDR2 more engaging than Dutch Van Der Linde.

For the founder of the Van Der Linde Gang, players felt a tidal wave of emotions regarding his presence and place and it really goes to show the mastery of Rockstar's character development.

In the first RDR, Dutch is an unhinged and cold-blooded killer, but in RDR2, the decline of Dutch's legacy comes off more as a tragedy that shouldn't have been.

The Actor: There are many actors who could carry the charm of Van Der Linde, but to find one who inhabits both the physical attributes and acting charisma is a rarity.

Jason Isaacs has proven time and time again that he is a superb character actor whose skill at creating a cruel but kind figure would blossom as the unfortunate leader of the bandit gang.

If nothing else, give Isaacs the moustache and soul patch, and you have a spitting image of the tragic antagonist.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
