Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation
2. Arthur Morgan - Jon Bernthal
The Character: The hero's journey of Arthur Morgan throughout RDR2 is one so powerful it could bring the most stone-faced person to tears.
More than even John Marston, the "Redemption" side of the titles really fit with such a powerfully written character.
Seeing the twilight months of the Van Der Linde Gang through the eyes of Arthur was an interesting choice from Rockstar - especially since Marston was present throughout the game too. But it was the stand Arthur makes against Dutch, and the sacrifice he makes for John and Abigail, that solidifies his place as Rockstar's greatest video game protagonist.
The Actor: Yes, Arthur Morgan is a fair-haired man, and Bernthal's oil-black locks might not align with initial design, but Jon Bernthal is a tour-de-force when it comes to playing charming, hateful, resentful and redemptive characters in film and TV.
His role as Frank Castle in Netflix's The Punisher stood out as one of the better performances in the streaming giant's Marvel shows, and his two-season arc on The Walking Dead proved he can pull off a strong Southern accent. Bernthal would steal the spotlight as the hero to cheer and cry for.
