Resident Evil 2 Remake: 10 Things It Got WRONG

9. Zombies Being Bullet Sponges

It's well established in zombie lore that a headshot does the job. Zombieland favours the double tap method, Shaun of the Dead has the news telling you the score, whereas just about every other film/game/book has you follow the same method.

Now, here's the sticky wicket: by making RE2 over the shoulder and free aim, a quick pop to the dome would make the game too easy.

Can you imagine how much of the suspense would be removed, or how much ammo you could save, if you could just "one and done" the shamblers, then be on your way?

Conversely, having every damn zombie take about five shots to the head just to knock them down ONCE can be an absolute pain. Even more so when you think they've died (or died again, or whatever) and they get back up for round two. Or round ten, if we're counting shells.

Understandably, it's in keeping with the survival horror aesthetic that zombies are a relentless foe. But why not bring back the feature of knowing a zombie is truly double dead by having the blood pool run out from beneath them, or something?
