Resident Evil 6: 10 Reasons We Should Give Chris a Chance

1. Does Different Really Mean Worse?

Who likes change, really? Change means personal adjustment, realignment, effort. That€™s why people become set in their ways; because something has worked for them in the past and they€™re sticking to it. I can see why so many people despair over the fate of the Resi franchise, and I can empathise. In a very real and literal sense, Resident Evil is not what it used to be, therefore it must be worse. But there€™s another way to look at it. Just take a look at Dead Space; it€™s scary and its action oriented, and when the first game came out it was tipped by many to be the new face of the survival horror genre. Generally no one complained about the series being too action centred because there€™s no previous standard to compare it to. Resident Evil doesn€™t have that luxury. But to me, Dead Space pangs of the new Resident Evil format, and you could say that the former directly inspired the latter, given that Resi 4 (the first of the new action-focused titles) came out a full three years before Dead Space. I€™m not convinced that the changes Capcom have made to their flagship series are necessarily for the worse, in fact, I€™d go so far as to say that Resident Evil is as popular now as it€™s ever been; it€™s just different. So there are ten reason to, if not be excited for Resident Evil 6, to at least give it the benefit of the doubt. Anything to say on the subject? You know where the comments box is... Resident Evil 6 is out on October 20th on Xbox 360 and PS3.
