Resident Evil 7: 10 Big Rumours That Would Save The Franchise

1. A Return To Its Roots

With so little confirmed about Resident Evil 7, there have been a number of conflicting rumours, most of which are probably based on nothing much at all. However, much of the information seems to indicate that Capcom is looking to bring the series back to its survival horror roots and move away from the action-heavy titles of RE5 and RE6. How exactly the game€™s developers will evoke the same feeling as these early games remains to be seen, but sources have suggested that the next title may even return to the original mansion used in the first game. Considering this was destroyed pretty comprehensively, this would suggest that the new game will retrace some old ground, or feature a replica of some sort. Even if it isn€™t the exact same setting, a return to the enclosed spaces and feeling of claustrophobia that characterised the first game would be the perfect way of putting the franchise back on top of the survival horror genre. Which of these rumours would you most like to see in Resident Evil 7? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
