Resident Evil 7: 10 Biggest Fan Demands Capcom Must Include

1. Static Camera Angles

This might be the biggest gamble in all of gaming, but it's something that Capcom hasn't done much of lately; take chances. The static camera angles of the original PlayStation trilogy helped shape the fear, putting Capcom in complete control of when to scare the player. The zombie dog scare from the first game and the constant chases by Nemesis in 3, all made possible with a static camera. Static camera angles have been getting a bad reputation in today's crowded gaming world of over-the-shoulder shooters, but the atmosphere they can create is truly fantastic. If you think a static camera is so 1996, then just take a look at the HD remake of the first game or even Resident Evil Zero, two relatively modern titles that made excellent use of fixed camera angles. A static camera is perhaps the most unfairly criticized gaming feature of all time, as it can absolutely work in the game's favor to create an instant sensation of fear and tension. There's nothing quite like the atmosphere created by walking into a room with just the right lighting and some good sound design, as it can be something incredibly spooky made with so very little. For Resident Evil 7, now may be the time to make an epic return to the days of a fixed camera. That old saying about "less is more"? Well, it's usually true when it comes to horror. Resident Evil's focus on action has allowed Capcom to forget about what made the series so great to begin with, and using today's technology while combined with some old-school fixed camera angles may just be the ticket you need to get the series back on course. It may be a controversial decision, but any series that has been stuck in a rut as long as Resident Evil could use a little controversy. What did we miss? Which characters do you want to see return?
