Resident Evil 7: 10 Controversial Things It Can Learn From 6

9. Scope Of The Plot

Thinking about plot, Resident Evil 6 really did something well with its own. The modern triple-A gaming market is full of epics. From Hollywood inspired Call of Duty campaigns to high fantasy gems such as the Witcher 3, epic plots are 'in'. It€™s really a case of go big or go home, there isn€™t much room for a €˜sort of€™ grandiose story. And that€™s what Resident Evil 6 understood. Previous game plots have been fine, but always felt contained. Contained to a mansion, a city, an island. 6 turned this on its head and amped up the zombie stakes. The virus this time (the C-Virus) is a global threat that we the players actually see causing total devastation. This plot is intense. The country-wide zombification of a population is edge of your seat Hollywood stuff. Capcom needs to ignore the calls to return to a more sheltered and constricted setting and keep 7€™s plot on the same large scale as 6. Modern games are demanding of such a kind of scope, and 7 shouldn't slow down just for the sake of it.
