Resident Evil 7: 10 Controversial Things It Can Learn From 6

4. The Return Of Zombies

If we haven€™t completely lost the critics of 6 and fans of the original games yet, then perhaps we can get them back on side with this point. RE 6 did very well simply for bringing back zombies in a big way - something 7 should continue. That may sound contradictory to the prior point about cool and new enemies, but it€™s not. Plagas-infected beasts and creepy crawlies have their place in Resident Evil now, they€™re not going anywhere. But Resident Evil 7 just needs to rebalance the zombie to weapon wielding infected ratio, as 6 did so beforehand. Zombies are a classic enemy, much enjoyed by the monster-loving public. Indeed, with the success of television shows such as the Walking Dead, they've experienced a bit of a renaissance in popular culture. The slow walking undead are going to be wanted in 7 by both mainline fans and the wider populace. If scenes like Leon€™s campaign opening, in which our floppy-fringed hero has to push his way through a seemingly city-wide zombie horde, can be replicated throughout 7, then it will be right on track to being a quality game, and we can all look at 6 for influence.
