6. The Plot Will Investigate Eveline’s Origins

As mentioned, the setting for Resi 8 is apparently home to a secret bio-weapon laboratory, a location which is said to play into the plot massively. Carrying on the story of the last game, the upcoming sequel is once again going to be focused around big bad Eveline, a genetically engineered bio-weapon who killed her victims by taking over their minds and causing mold-based mutations.

She was a far cry from the rather rudimentary monsters created by Umbrella’s T or G Viruses, and while her backstory was delved into in the final third of the last game, there’s still so much about her origin that’s up in the air.

The plot of the eighth title is said to focus on this, exploring the facilities where she - and other bio-weapons, perhaps even stronger ones - were made. After a brief time away to try something new, it seems Resi has fallen back in love with its shady corporations and crazy biohazard conspiracies.
