In the developer discussion video, two of the producers from the game talked a bit about the upcoming entry, during which they were able to confirm that the game will still be running on the very impressive RE Engine, which has been used for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 and 3's remakes, as well as Devil May Cry 5.

Keeping the RE engine for the next generation of consoles means that the game will still be as gory as ever if not more so. The RE engine will most likely be used to its fullest with the new consoles to fill the world to the brim with realistic-looking damage for the monstrous enemies as well as the gorgeous realistic environments that have now been expanded from Resident Evil 7's claustrophobic Lousiana house.

The RE engine hasn't received as much praise as it honestly should with it's realistic looking human character models and amazing attention to detail regarding the zombie enemies in Resident Evil remakes of 2 and 3 that has made combat all the more intense and difficult making encountering even the least threatening of enemies become a brutal fight for survival that fans can expect to experience more of in RE Village.
