Resident Evil 8 Village: Story & Ending Explained
Mother Miranda’s Origins
Other than what Ethan looks like, this is probably the greatest mystery concerning Resident Evil Village. More so because she is a completely new entity when it comes to Resident Evil, having had no real prior mentions and, for the most part, she operates within the shadows.
Just before Miranda truly reveals her plot, Ethan can take a peek at some reports from the Wolf Hound Squad detailing the Mother and her motives. It turns out that she infected herself with something called the Muamycete, a mysterious giant lump of flesh located in an undisclosed cave before being moved under the titular Village. This granting Mother Miranda a number of abilities, with the most notable being that of mimicry.
So, basically she can take on the form of anyone. Even crows, as it is revealed later into the game.
Controlling her cells, Mother Miranda took on the form of Mia when Chris and his team seemingly executed her, but that wasn't the end, as she could even make herself seem dead - only to later resurrect and steal baby Rosemary from the Wolf Hound Squad.
