5. Multiple Characters

As Resident Evil 8 should be taking a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil 2, multiple characters should be one of the first things it includes.

One of the biggest surprises from RE7 was the switch to Mia's perspective for a section of the final act. This not only spiced up the gameplay, but also allowed players to delve deeper into her character to explain some significant plot points. Two campaigns should really be one of the biggest additions to the next game in the series.

Mia and Ethan could even be the returning characters of each individual campaign going forward, telling us how they got involved in the next disaster. These campaigns should offer completely different things, taking place in different locations, offering a variety of story beats that all build on RE7's core mechanics.
