Within the lengthy list of Resident Evil games there exists the Gun Survivor trilogy. This was a light gun-style series that brought the action into first-person over a decade before Resident Evil 7 came into existence.
The first game in this series was Survivor, and the protagonist was Ark Thompson - though we don’t blame you if you haven’t heard of him.
An amnesiac pilot who’s flung into the zombie-infested streets of an island township at the start of the game, Thompson is as generic a character as his name and fashion sense would suggest. His awkward controls and atrocious voice acting don’t do him any favours either.
Moreover, his connection to the broader series is little more than a hammy line of dialogue that serves as the game’s abysmal twist.
On the bright side, there were better games and characters to come from this spin-off series.
