Resident Evil HD: 10 Iconic Moments You Need To Revisit

7. Murderous Puzzles

It's just a house, right? That key sitting there innocently on the podium clearly has no malicious intent behind it. As soon as you pick up that shiny door-opener you've stumbled upon, the walls close in around you and that innocent-looking giant suit of armour you passed earlier starts trundling towards you with a shield adorned with rotating blades of death. You can't run, you can't shoot your way out and you certainly can't call for help. Of course, putting the key back in its rightful place stops you from being chopped up into little chunks, but you're still without a key. It's not until you've been staring blankly at your inventory for what seems like hours that you realise that some lunatic groundsman hid something special in his dog's collar, and then you have a dog whistle. It's just one puzzle, but it's the first to truly test your investigative skills, and reiterates the fact that it's not just the mansion's inhabitants that are trying to kill you, but the building itself is going to take a damn good crack at murdering you too.
