Resident Evil HD: 10 Iconic Moments You Need To Revisit

5. How To Kill A Zombie 101 (Crimson Heads)

Coming up with a method to kill something that's already dead isn't exactly easy at the best of times, but it's made all the more troublesome when that same entity gets stronger if you fail to kill it properly the first time around. Destroying the head is a given - zombies don't take too kindly to having their craniums shattered - but that doesn't help if they keel over and 'die' before you're able to perform brain surgery on them with a firearm. But then you discover that fire pretty much kills anything. With an ample supply of kerosene and a canteen to hold it in, you can just incinerate any undead lucky enough to keep its head after being littered with bullets. Absent from the original version of the game, having to deal with Crimson Head zombies added an extra layer of item management to an already tense experience, forcing you to weigh up your options between saving your precious fuel for larger groups of zombies or to incinerate everything that moved before it mutated into a faster, stronger and more aggressive killing machine.
