Resident Evil HD: 10 Iconic Moments You Need To Revisit

4. Surprise! It's A Magnum

By the universal laws of the Resident Evil world, the magnum revolver is always the king of your arsenal. The standard handgun is great for dealing with zombie fodder and the shotgun puts Crimson Heads, Cerberus dogs and Hunters to bed fast, but the magnum is the quintessential boss-killer (or the vanquisher of an enemy that's just killed you for the third time). You always feel that little bit safer when you find the six-shooter, and just holding it in your hands gives you the mentality that everything's going to be okay. It isn't, of course, but you can pretend. There's no warning or hint that what you're about to receive from a random graveyard puzzle is a magnum. When the epitaph of some no-name person's headstone rotates around to reveal your new killing machine, your plight against the undead feels that little bit less daunting. Queue spending the remainder of the game not wanting to use the gun for fear of needing the ammo later on, with each discovery of that extra ammo clip an event worth punching the air for. The Tyrant doesn't go down easily.
