The Nemesis

The culmination of all Umbrella's viral and Tyrant work over decades finally lead to their most deadly, intelligent and efficient model yet - the Nemesis-T Type.

Unlike all the Tyrants that had come before, Nemesis was combined with a parasite from the European division of Umbrella, know, as the NE-α Type. This parasite was the key to helping Nemesis fully reach his destructive potential. The very same parasite was even used on Lisa Trevor, which explains her inhuman ability to take massive damage, but yet keep coming back for more. She was pretty much Nemesis, but on a smaller scale.

Once the parasite was set upon a host, it would bond on a cellular level. In the case of the Nemesis Tyrant, it was planted directly into the brainstem, severing the connection between brain and body, which meant it had full control of the creature's motor functions - basically becoming the monster that would hunt Jill Valentine relentlessly.

Equipping this monster with a rocket launcher helped too, even if it was a little overkill.

Nemesis - also known as "The Pursuer" by Umbrella, was deployed into Raccoon via helicopter once the outbreak went into full effect. With strict instructions to hunt down and kill all remain S.T.A.R.S members, Nemesis was shown photos of the S.T.A.R.S to ensure the Tyrant would not miss them even when out of uniform.

The aforementioned parasite comes into full effect by giving the Tyrant a massive tentacle to attack and infect its prey. Even with a similar Trench Coat Limiter to Mr X, Nemesis was able to mutate at an accelerated rate.

Twice we see these abilities used on S.T.A.R.S members, with the first being Brad Vickers. Nemesis spears Vickers straight through his mouth and out the back of the neck, leading to an almost instantaneous death, but also an enhanced infection rate.

The second is once Jill Valentine is infected by the creature which leaves her unconscious for two full days following the attack - it was only thanks to Carlos, a now expended Umbrella asset that Jill received an antidote to the T-Virus and survived.
