Resident Evil On Netflix: 8 Things We Want To See

2. Flashbacks To Events From The Games

The series appears to be positioning itself well after the initial outbreak of the T-Virus, meaning that famous events from the games like Raccoon City's destruction have already happened. Of course, that's if the series plans to stick to that continuity at all.

Assuming that the show does plan to stick to some long-held canon, it would be a shame if we didn't get to see some of these events unfold via flashbacks. Presenting these events as background for a new story could be a stroke of brilliance, as it allows you to give longtime fans a bit of fun and some crucial world-building for newcomers.

Imagine the show opening with a truncated exploration of the events at the Spencer Mansion, showing the iconic first zombie and Wesker's betrayal. As the series goes on, you could continuously flashback to Raccoon City, portraying it as a peaceful midwestern town and how it was destroyed by Umbrella.

Use the past to inform the present, showing us how much damage Umbrella has left in their wake. Destroy Raccoon City and make us hate them for it. There's a ton of lore and mythology in the RE games, so using that to basically set up an entirely new tale in the universe could be perfect.
