Rocksteady's Rumoured Justice League Game: 16 Features It MUST Include

9. The Nemesis System

Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor (no, you haven't swapped articles) is a third-person action game developed by Monolith Studios. I mention it here because Monolith is owned by Warner Bros., and the games are built around a system that I'd love to see in a long-form superhero game: the Nemesis System. Should you face an enemy who bests you in combat, that enemy will become more powerful and rise through the ranks of the opposing army. These nemeses will remember you when you encounter them again, still carrying the scars of the previous battle.

This system would tie in perfectly with the Justice League and the well-known villains of the DC universe. Imagine taking down Clayface as Green Lantern for the second time, only for the two to reminisce on their first encounter during the battle. Imagine exploding Firefly's gas tank in a boss fight (one of several ways to take him down) only to find out that Garfield Lynns is on the burns ward at Gotham General.

Tying dialogues and scenes to history between characters in the style of the Nemesis System would give players' actions in the world that little more gravitas, and given Monolith's system was originally intended for a Batman game, it makes perfect sense.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
