Satoru Iwata - 10 Iconic Nintendo Games You Should Play As Tribute
4. Mario Kart Wii
The Mario Kart series has been one of the true bastions of multiplayer gaming since the very first title appeared on the SNES - a game which Satoru Iwata once mentioned he made the time to play, despite his commitments to Hal Laboratory - and in this Wii version the series may well have reached its zenith. Again, Iwata acted as the Executive Producer of the game and oversaw the creation of a title that really managed to make excellent use of the Wii's functionality. In particular, the introduction of the Wii Wheel was a stroke of genius and one that could only have come from the "blue sky" thinking that Iwata encouraged in his staff during the era. What gamers got with Mario Kart Wii was a game that took all of the great ideas of the many that had come before it and brought them all together into a perfect package. The title barely put a foot wrong and is a great game to play with friends if you all want to get together and remember Satoru Iwata by doing what he loved encouraging people to do - enjoy games.
