Sekiro: 11 MAJOR Changes That Will Shock Dark Souls Fans

1. No More Corpse Runs (XP Is Gone Forever, Minus One Exception)

Sekiro shadows die twice

Staple of Dark Souls and the reason behind many a euphoric feeling after making the Superbowl-esque sprint through enemy hordes to retrieve your lost XP, that whole feature is now gone as well.

Answers in the comments as to whether the ability to "corpse run" after your dropped Souls/XP was a good thing, or whether it promoted the idea of only learning an area's enemy layout once, so you could run through it unharmed afterwards.

Either way, if you die in Sekiro (for the final time), your XP is gone, but the game does have "Unseen Aid"; a percentage chance of keeping your XP when resurrecting.

This number is tied to certain items you have equipped, and the better off you've specced your character in some directions, the less chance there is of being "blessed" by this invisible helping hand.

Again, another solid trade-off, though the sting of accruing a ton of XP - only to lose it without the Unseen Aid triggering whatsoever - is one hell of a change from the established formula.
