Sekiro: 11 MAJOR Changes That Will Shock Dark Souls Fans

2. Level Up Without Resetting Enemies

Sometimes you just want to return to a bonfire/lamp/shrine and bank your XP, without the knowledge that doing so will reset the world and make you slog back through that same gauntlet of enemies all over again.

Sometimes that latest grind was just to unlock one incremental thing, and in Shadows Die Twice, FromSoftware have realised that.

Now, when you sit down at a shrine, you have the option to "Rest" separately to opening the skill tree or dropping prayer beads on a health upgrade.

Besides meaning you can treat shrines as more helpful "rest areas" to peruse skills and think about where to go next whilst cleaning an entire environment, it removes some of the "grind" from the experience overall.
