18. Hold R1 To Do A Guard-Breaking Stab

Starting out with one of the most essential techniques in the game. Holding R1 will see Sekiro charge up his blade for a more pronounced forward stab - perfect for breaking that last chunk of an enemy's Posture, or cleaving right through their guard stance.

There's a noticeable windup here that leaves you vulnerable and the enemy A.I. will take advantage of this opportunity to get a hit in, so be mindful of placement on the battlefield when deciding to use it.

Get the timing of this right and you can decimate an opponent who's more defensively minded, creating opportunities for further attack flurries.
