Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 14 Helpful Gameplay Secrets You Didn't Know
8. Kick Off An Enemy To Stun Them (And Open Up A Unique Death Blow)
Now, the game points out that you can hit X/A when leaping over a sweep attack to do some Posture damage in return, but better still, you can kick off enemies (and walls) whenever you want, for a greater evasion.
Kicking directly off a foe with forward + jump will usually stagger for them for a second, letting you come crashing down with an R1 swipe or mid-air Combat Art (if you've unlocked that skill), but better yet: You can do a unique Death Blow from the air, too.
This is harder to get right after you've unlocked Vault Over (as Sekiro will go into that animation if you push forward + jump), but if you've wounded a foe so they're staggered, approach in mid-air or jump on the spot, hit R1/RB and you'll get a VERY cool-looking Death Blow.
Involving Sekiro wrenching an enemy to the ground using his legs around their neck, it's easily one of the coolest kills in the game, but also one of the most finicky to pull off.
