Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Ranking Every Boss From Easiest To Hardest
13. Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa
There’s nothing like the sight of seeing Gyoubu for the first time. As you land in a battlefield strewn with corpses, it becomes clear that something awful has happened, and as you march towards the nearest exit you come face to face with the giant guardian of the gates astride his monstrous steed.
This is the first boss of the main storyline, and he's sure to surprise players at first with his increased speed, size and more aggressive combat form. However once you realise that his attacks are easy enough to deflect and that you can grapple onto his head should he get too far away, the battle becomes a case of smashing his foal in the flanks. Throw in the firecrackers, and there's plenty you can do to offset his aggression.
He can still hit like a train should he connect, but players who remember that they too possess a lot of options for mobility can easily get out from under him. To be honest, it’s the emotional goodbye that’s the hardest thing about this fight coming out of it. Look at his horse. Look at it. You did this.
