7. The Breezy, Cinematic Campaign

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Lara Croft
Square Enix

Shadow's campaign may not be outstanding or all that memorable, but it is a lot of fun all the same. Clocking in at around 10-ish hours, Shadow's story doesn't even remotely outstay its welcome, and thanks to fantastic pacing, you'll rarely find yourself bogged down in tedium.

Set-pieces are snappy and liberally interspersed with entertaining cut-scenes, and for as little as Eidos Montréal have tinkered with the series' formula, they do at least demonstrate a clear understanding of how to lay-out an exciting action-adventure game.

Again, this is a neat, undemanding romp that can be easily ploughed through over a lazy weekend. It doesn't ask much of the player, the difficulty is comically low on Normal settings, and though hardly a landmark effort, it delivers most of the high-calorie thrills fans will be expecting.
