Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
6. There's Lots Of Actual Tomb Raiding
Fans have quite rightly complained that the two previous reboot games didn't feature enough tomb raiding: it is in the title, after all. Well, it's a pleasure to report that Shadow places a far greater emphasis on Lara exploring elaborate, ornate tombs rife with puzzles and hidden threats.
Whether you stick to the critical path or venture off, there are many Challenge Tombs to take on, and while few of them pose much of an actual challenge, the eye-popping architecture and sheer, imposing atmosphere ensure they're a lot of fun.
In this respect the game does veer just a little closer to the tone of the original PS1 games, appreciating that the appeal of the series is supposed to be the thrill of discovery, not brutally murdering hundreds of men.
