Silent Hills: 10 Reasons To Be Incredibly Excited

5. Easter Eggs And References Galore

Considering the game reveal itself was hidden deep within the P.T. download, Kojima loves to hide references to other entertainment properties such as movies and TV shows in his games, as well as previous titles in a games' given canon. It'll be the first time Kojima has tackled another established franchise and one that he did not have any hand in creating from scratch, meaning he's coming at the series in a manner similar to how future Star Wars' directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank - i.e. as fans who in theory will have been tracking where things have gone wrong over the years, and know how to fix them. It's not just about restoring the mass opinion in the series going forward though, it wouldn't be a Kojima game without multiple levels to each piece of information and reference within. The Silent Hill games are mostly completely separate experiences tied only through the town itself, but people still have their favourite characters. The MGS games are all peppered with awesome tidbits that prove just how well read Kojima is; you need only call a member of your support team on the in-game codec to indulge in many optional conversations about everything from Godzilla to James Bond.
