Skyrim: 10 Best Ways To Play Without Mods

7. Fists Only

You haven't played Skyrim until you've beat Alduin - the world-eater and harbinger of the end times - to death with your bare hands. Whilst hand-to-hand combat was more of an option back in Oblivion, Skyrim still has a multitude of ways that makes Pugilism not only viable, but in some cases better than other forms of attack.

Playing as a Khajiit and stacking the heavy armour perk that improves unarmed attack alongside the pugilist's enchantment nets you a decent amount of damage and can be a great early game option. And while it is viable, the true allure of playing fists only is the cathartic euphoria of punching your way through dragon after dragon.

The combat in Skyrim was always quite satisfying, if not basic, and it becomes even more so if you focus on punching through every encounter. Not to mention, the hand-to-hand kill cams are easily the most brutal and enjoyable in the game.

If you're looking for that fresh experience, fists only are about as fresh and interesting as it gets.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
