Skyrim: 16 Best Mods Of All Time

13. Animation - Dance of Death

The combat in Skyrim is one of the weaker aspects of the game. It's brutal and harsh as the landscape around it but not particularly deep.

One thing about combat that is nailed though is the kill-moves at the end of a round of battle, disposing of you final enemy in as gruesome a way fashionable, be that a soldiers execution, slitting their throat with a dagger or one of the many beheadings at your behest.

The major downside here is it does only happen at the end of combat, and with the myriad of kill-moves available, you might only see a handful throughout you entire playthrough. Dance of Death looks to remedy that by allowing these animations to activate during combat, so multiple bandits can feel your wrath.

The mod also has an configuration page on the MCM Menu, which lets players alter the frequency of the animations, the point of view your move happens in and your chances of decapitations. It's criminal that this wasn't a feature of the normal game, so this mod is an excellent addition to your library.

Runners Up:

YY Anim Replacers - A collection of animation replacers which makes the character move in a much more anime fashion.

Enhanced Animation - These animations change some of the basic movements and attacks depending on the weapon equipped, e.g. a heavy sword attack might now be a thrust rather than another chop.

Dovahkiin Relaxes Too - It's not all about combat, sometimes the Dragonborn wants to lean against the fence and watch the river, or even sweep the floor of his mansion.
