Sonic Mania: 11 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See
8. SegaSonic Popcorn Shop Was A Real Thing
1993 really is the year that formed the majority of Christian Whitehead's memories, going into Sonic Mania.
Alongside the aforementioned easter eggs that originated back then is the Segasonic Popcorn Shop; a supremely awesome vending machine that actually included a minigame whilst you got served.
After ordering either salted, butter or, erm, curry-flavoured popcorn, you'd then have the option to rotate a small crank that controlled Sonic and Tails racing to outpace Robotnik and 'release' your order.
Thankfully, your purchase came out regardless, but what a brilliant idea.
