South Park: The Stick Of Truth - 12 Reasons It's Awesome

3. It's Visually Identical To The Show

In an age where the polygon count is being up to tremendous numbers resulting in games looking more lifelike than ever, Stick of Truth is arguably one of the most visually impressive games ever made, purely for the fact that if you placed the in-game graphics side-by-side with a recent episode of the show it is nigh impossible to tell the difference between the two. It sounds like one of the oddest ways to praise the graphical capabilities of a game, but history has proven time and time again - especially with adaptations of The Simpsons and Family Guy - that for whatever reason, it is highly challenging to incorporate video game animation that can match up to the original source material. The startling revelation is brought out even more with the decision to not include a HUD for things like health and what abilities a player has equipped when exploring (although it can be prompted with a simple button press or a dive into the equipment menu). It also helps that the game is fixated on a 2D plane, which adds that extra bit of oomph to the visual process letting the colours pop and contrast in a way somewhat similar to Rayman Legends.
