Spider-Man 2: 10 Villain Boss Fights We Need To See
2. Green Goblin (Norman Osborn)
Norman Osborn had a big presence in the first Insomniac Spider-Man title, with the studio taking a number of different liberties when it came to adapting the character from the source material.
While, in the comics, Osborn becomes the Green Goblin and fights Spider-Man during his burgeoning years as a superhero, there's no indication in the first game that Norman has ever been a supervillain. He's still a slimy New York businessman with political ambitions, mind, but he's not reached the point where he feels the need to take matters into his own hands.
Not that Insomniac haven't teased the idea he may be on his way to doing just that, though. When Mary Jane sneaks into the Osborn penthouse and unwittingly brings back Spider #42 to Miles, she also spots what looks to be early prototypes of the Goblin's pumpkin bombs. Other visual clues that foreshadow Norman's transformation include his green clothing, as well as the ending scene where he's bathed in the green light of Harry's symbiote tank - the signature colour of the Green Goblin.
It remains to be seen how or when Insomniac introduce the Green Goblin, but after losing the Mayorship and with his son in the grip of a symbiote, the stage is set for Osborn to suit up and embrace his role as Spider-Man's greatest adversary.
