Spider-Man 2: 10 Villain Boss Fights We Need To See

3. Sandman

Sandman is honestly one of the best Marvel villains full-stop. So many of Spider-Man's characters were lucky enough to receive fully rounded arcs in the decades following their respective debuts (at least until the status-quo came to ruin the parade), and Sandman was one of the most noticeable.

While initially a recurring antagonist for the web-slinger, Flint Marko is remembered most fondly by readers for developing into an antihero, following a heart-to-heart talk with Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Sandman would team up with Spider-Man and other Marvel heroes to fight against the villains he had previously allied himself with, and even became a member of the Avengers too. It's one of the all-time great comic book redemption stories, and one that would be great to see play out in some form in Insomniac's Spider-Man sequel.

The narrative potential for Marko is rich, and the gameplay opportunities basically go without saying, given how regularly the character has appeared in various Marvel video games up to now.

If he is to eventually appear in a new Spidey game though, it'd be great to see him redeem himself and turn to heroics - either as a member of the Avengers, or (more likely) as a part of Silver Sable's Wild Pack.
