8. Doctor Octopus
Although Spider-Man PS4's ending sets up a new pair of villains to take centre stage, it's clear Doc Octopus is far from done. His crusade against Norman Osborn and knowledge of the shady experiments conducted to save his son mean that Otto Octavius still has a lot of relevance moving forward in this story, especially as the controversial head of Oscorp seems to be one of the two major villains hinted at in the upcoming sequel.
Combine this with his new found hatred towards Peter Parker following their clash atop Oscorp tower and it seems more than likely that Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus could come to blows once again.
It would be a wise choice seen as the eight armed villain was hailed as one of the biggest highlights of the first game, his slow descent into madness becoming all the more heart-breaking due to his role as Peter's wise and affectionate mentor.
It doesn't seem like the lid's closed on their relationship either. Octavius's plans to expose Osborn led to the death of Peter's beloved Aunt May and Spider-Man's actions robbed the mad scientist of his signature mechanical arms leaving him to submit to a degenerative neurological disease. There's unfinished business between the two and Insomniac would be foolish to leave it out of the inevitable follow-up.
