Spider-Man 2 PS5: 10 Alternate Costumes It MUST Include
3. Spider-Phoenix
The Phoenix Force is one of the most powerful forces in the Marvel Universe. Made up of all of the energy that has existed and is yet to exist, the formless entity came to be worshipped across multiple worlds as a god. While the Phoenix Force is most commonly associated with Jean Grey, the mysterious entity has taken many hosts throughout its existence.
Things were a little different though, when it came to be Spider-Man's turn to become the Phoenix. The wall-crawler paired up with the Phoenix Force in Spider-Man #25, when facing against a group of android clones of the Excalibur team. Trapped on one of Arcade’s Murderworlds, Spidey had to improvise a solution to get him and the remaining team members back home.
Using the same technology, Parker created an illusion in which he gained the powers of the Phoenix Force. As it was only a trick, Peter didn’t actually gain any of the powers associated with the powerful entity, yet it was enough to bring an end to the battle.
Spider-Phoenix was featured in the “Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro” video game back in 2001. The game expanded on the character a little more, actually giving the web-slinger extra powers. Hopefully Insomniac follow suite and include the awesome looking suit in their second effort.
