Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 20 Secrets, Easter Eggs & References Explained
7. Neighbours
Later in the game (particularly after the Harlem festival) if you swing back to Miles' apartment, go into photo mode and take a closer look at the other residents that occupy Miles' building. and you'll see references to Waldo, Woody and Buzz, Cthulhu and Fred and Jason.
At the top of the list you'll see Waldo, which seems like a reference to the children's book Where's Waldo? In Britain this would be corrected to "Where's Wally" but since Miles Morales is set in New York, it feels fitting to go with the American term.
In isolation, this may seem like a coincidence but when you scan further down, the next on the list reads Woody and Buzz, who everyone will know are the two major characters of the Toy Story franchise. This doesn't seem like a stretch considering that Toy Story and Marvel are both owned by Disney, plus the writing bears a similarity to Andy's handwriting in the movies.
Next on the list is Cthulhu, complete with a little illustration, but the best is at very bottom with a red-stained calling card for Freddy and Jason, two well-known horror icons. The placard also comes complete with "13F", a further reference to the Friday the 13th series of films of which the two characters did appear.
Better make sure you've got a strong lock on that door, Miles.
