Spider-Man PS4: 10 Big Things We Learned From The E3 Demo

8. Stealth Gameplay Looks Kind Of Arkham-y

Spider-Man PS4 Stealth Gameplay
Insomniac

One thing that pretty much every Spidey title has struggled with has been nailing the wallcrawler's stealthier attributes. Straight up combat has, on average, been quite decent, but no developer has yet been able to accurately portray Spidey when he be creepin'.

That looks set to change with the coming generation, however, because - like most titles these days - Spidey's taking pointers from the Arkham series. Insomniac are offering more than just your average webbing with this entry, and are showcasing Parker's talents when it comes to engineering. Indeed, it looks as though players will be able to deploy traps as the wallcrawler, and zip from vertical positions to get the drop on his enemies.

If there's more web gadgetry to go around - and, let's face it, there probably will be - then this'll be the first Spidey title to really focus on the webslinger's ability to, well, science the sh*t out of his enemies. If anything, however, it proves that Insomniac are tapping into the full gameplay potential of the character, and that, at least this time around, Spidey will be benefiting from a renewed focus on diversifying his abilities for a new audience.
