Spider-Man PS4: 10 Characters Who Could Be The Perfect Villain

1. Green Goblin

Despite Otto Octavius' recent success at stealing Peter Parker's body, powers and life as his Superior Spider-Man plot was put to work, there's no denying who Spider-Man's greatest foe really is. With Green Goblin being responsible for the most devastating moment in Peter's history he'll most likely always be the greatest and most personal villain.

But the sad truth is that, outside the pages of the comics, Green Goblin has never been presented with much success. Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn was decent enough, and we'll sadly never know how good Chris Cooper could have been. Video game iterations have been even less successful, and it's high time that that was changed.

The gruelling battles that Spider-Man has waged against Osborn's Green Goblin cry out to be played; flinging the Web-Slinger through the sky in pursuit of the glider-bound maniac would be a true thrill if executed correctly. We've already talked about how important it is to highlight Spider-Man's acrobatic abilities, and this option would do that and more. Stopping the Goblin would be a genuine pleasure, driving the game's players to keep on going until the task is done.

Such motivation has kept Peter going for years; it's time we felt a modicum of that responsibility as well.
