2. The Inheritors

Morlun has been a dangerous foe for Peter Parker for many years, but we have only recently been introduced to his equally deadly family. The Inheritors are a clan of totemic hunters who have maintained their existence by feeding on Totems - individuals who connect animal and Human kingdoms. You know; like Spider-Man does.

When this clan turn their attention to the Great Web and seek to rid the multiple universes of all Spider Totems, Peter Parker has to join forces with an army of other Spider-Men and Women in order to survive. Morlun and his fellow Inheritors carry immense power, and at first appear to be immortal to top the whole thing off.

This isn't strictly true, however, and it's actually the use of a cloning facility that allows them all to return to life in a new body whenever their old one is destroyed. What this would mean for a game is that multiple showdowns and a strategic story - like that of one of Batman's Arkham games - could be sustained for hours alongside numerous side quests, challenges and distractions.

Sadly, the rest of the Spider-Army may have to wait for a sequel...
