7. Mysterio

Mysterio's always been a bit of a joke in the Spider-Man universe, but could Insomniac make him a serious threat?

Probably not. Mysterio relies heavily on the use of illusions and doesn't really have much going for him beside that. He doesn't have any superhuman abilities, instead relying on his history of special effects and acting. Still, his illusions could provide levels similar to Scarecrow's sections in Batman Arkham Asylum, with Spider-Man having to go up against larger than life foes and fears.

The best way to have Mysterio make an impact would be for him to create illusions of Peter's family and have them put into dangerous scenarios. This could play into Spider-Man's insecurities, involving key family members in a bigger way.

The perfect way to involve Mysterio is to simply make him a supporting villain, rather than one that Spider-Man goes directly toe-to-toe with.
