Spider-Man PS4: 7 Combat Tips To Help You Dominate Each Encounter

3. How To Get Gold In Taskmaster Combat Challenges

Unlike the combat challenges found in the Arkham games, the Taskmaster challenges in Spider-Man don't require you to put as much effort into chaining together intricate combos full of gadgets and special takedown moves.

Rather, the only thing that really matters here if you want that that shiny gold rating - in both the stealth and combat challenges - is your time.

That in mind, don't worry about pulling off tons of Spidey's fancy moves. That's not necessary. Just defeat each enemy as quickly as you possibly can. For combat challenges, spam gadgets like the Impact Web, Web Bomb and your basic Web Shooter - combined with the Battle Tech and Webbed Striker suit mods, which will generate focus for gadget and web attacks - to clear out enemies quickly. If done right, you'll also get a nice health bonus.

(Also, try not to use any triangle + circle finishing moves while on the ground - some of the animations are quite lengthy. Instead, only use them while Spidey is airborne, as the airborne finisher is over rather quickly).

For stealth challenges, obey the same principle. Use the Web Strike Takedown method we discussed in the last entry, and pepper in the occasional Trip Mine and Impact Web. Avoid Stealth and Perch Takedowns; they just take too long.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
