Spider-Man PS4 Sequel: 10 Things We Want To See
10. More Imaginative Boss Fights
As cinematic and visually appealing as the boss fights were in the first game, this is overall a key area where it was majorly lacking.
Despite having Spidey face off against a popular cabal of comic book foes, the overwhelming majority of the boss battles boiled down to swinging clear of attacks, spamming webbing and waiting for your cue to land a QTE attack.
Practically every boss encounter in the game relied on the same repetitive phase-based format, ensuring there was never too much threat or danger even on higher difficulties.
As wonderfully contemporary and well-crafted as the game mostly is, this is one aspect that feels woefully retrograde, and the sequel desperately needs to change things up with more dynamic and diverse high-stakes battles.
If nothing else, the villains themselves need to be better-represented, and fans certainly deserve more intriguing and challenging fights given all that glossy build-up.
